Delivery & Returns


We want you to love everything that you buy from Hickling 229, but we know that sometimes things just don't suit you or your home, so we've made our returns policy as fair as possible.

Please do note that personalised, customised or made-to-order items cannot be returned. A birthday gift personalised with your Aunt Emmeline's name might be a little bit tricky for us to sell to another customer. This is a statutory returns policy in England & Wales.

You may return most new, unopened items within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. If the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect or defective item, etc.) we will pay for the return. Items returned must be in a saleable condition for us to process a refund.

You should expect to receive your refund within four weeks of giving your package to the return shipper, however, in many cases you will receive a refund more quickly. This time period includes the transit time for us to receive your return from the shipper (5 to 10 business days), the time it takes us to process your return once we receive it (3 to 5 business days), and the time it takes your bank to process our refund request (5 to 10 business days).

We mostly ship within the United Kingdom as we are based in Borough on London's Southbank. But we can ship to virtually any address in the world. Note that there are restrictions on some products, and some products cannot be shipped to international destinations.

When you place an order, we will estimate shipping and delivery dates for you based on the availability of your items and the shipping options you choose. Depending on the shipping provider you choose, shipping date estimates may appear on the shipping quotes page.

Some of our homeware items are heavy, and the shipping costs can be high to certain destinations. We also source products as ethically as possible, which means that a few of our personalised items are made in the United States. This adds to the time and cost of getting an item to you. But we're confident you'll think our products are worth the wait.

We price our shipping as fairly as possible. And
if you spend over £60 shipping is usually free, unless you've included some made-to-order or personalised items.
